Heading Northeast

After spending two weeks in the South (90 degrees with 100% humidity), we were ready to make our way to Maine.  Even though Lambeau has been a trooper, but we did not want to subject him to more than four hours in the car in one day.  As luck would have it, four hours from Atlanta put us in Mosheim, TN...just in time for laundry!  Due to some GPS issues, what should have been a four hour trip turned into a six hour ride.  I goofed and had Kristopher drive I-40 from Asheville, NC toward Knoxville, TN.  It was steep grade combined with a very curvy road which is not fun with 14,000 lbs in tow.  We arrived just in time for dinner and had time to watch American Pickers with my parents after laundry and a hot shower.  We had a short and sweet visit with my parents, and the next day we headed toward Maine via I-81.

The next day's travel through Virginia was uneventful.  We camped at a full hook-up site on Lake Robertson near Lexington, Virginia.  We were aware that the site was 15 miles off I-81, but it was a surprise that it was narrow country roads.  As luck would have it, I was driving.  I didn't mind because it was awesome practice!

On Friday, we drove through northern Virginia and part of Pennsylvania.  We stayed at Camp-A-While, about an hour north of Hershey, PA.  By this stop, we have our set up routine to under 15 minutes. We spoke to several permanent residents in this park who told us about a beer cafe 10 minutes away.  Much to my surprise, they had one of my favorite beers for sale.  The name is only slightly more awesome than the taste.  The only thing that saved me from drinking it on the way home was that it was not refrigerated.

Something to note when purchasing alcohol in Hegins, PA is that you are only allowed to purchase 120 ounces of alcohol.  We were curious when our cashier was writing figures on her hand when her register was clearly functional.  Luckily, I am lightweight when drinking outside of Utah and one beer is sufficient. For those unfamiliar with Utah's wacky alcohol laws, look here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_laws_of_Utah

Even wikipedia can't make that shit up.
