Ohio Bound (September 4th through 9th)

After fleeing Somerset Airfield, we headed west and ended up outside Binghamton, NY were we spent two nights at Chenango State Park. We are meeting some old friends of mine in Grove City, OH (outside Columbus) on Friday, so we had a series of jumps to break up the nine hour drive.  After setting up camp, Kristopher, Lambeau and I drove to Binghamton for drinks and dinner.  Since it was Labor Day, most places were closed, but we had drinks at Belmar and Indian food from Taj Tandoor.  We both ate way too much food, so we went for a walk in what we thought was downtown Binghamton.  Turns out it was the rougher part of town, but we left unscathed.

One of our first stops on the trip was an organic dairy farm where we purchased grass-fed beef.  Their products were so amazing and well-priced, we wanted to restock our freezer. Since rain was in the forecast all day Tuesday, we drove an hour to Groton, New York.  If you can't tell, the lens on Kristopher's iPhone broke, leaving me on photo duty.  I cheated on the one above and stole one from google. I am trying to get better at remembering to take photos!

The next day, we drove into Pennsylvania and stayed at another Harvest Host Starr Hill Winery.  We were greeted by the owner, his son and grandson.  They gave us the grand tour and we sampled several sweet wines.  Lambeau had some off leash time in the vineyard, and I miraculously remembered to take a few photos.

The next day, we drove to Finleyville, Pennsylvania (south of Pittsburg) to stay at Trax Farm, another Harvest Host. Our campsite was near the Trax Farmer's Market in an adjacent parking lot.  After we set up camp, we drove to Hitchhikers Brewery and sampled their beer.  While sitting at a red light on the drive back, I noticed a strip mall with Moe's Southwest Grill and Panera Bread just a few doors down.  It was nearing 6:30pm, and we were stuck in rush hour traffic.  We made the impromptu decision to have dinner at Moe's for Kristopher and Panera for me.  I am a huge Panera fan and earned most of my Master's degree in their cafe! There aren't any in Utah, so I've only eaten there once in the last two years. Kristopher has been talking for weeks about how much he loves Moe's, so we were both happy campers that night!

The next day, we drove to Deer Creek State Park south of Columbus, Ohio.  After setting up camp, we drove to Grove City Brewing where we met my friends Will and Nikki for drinks and dinner.  We are still deciding where we are driving to tomorrow!
