Killing time in Ohio and Indiana (September 10th through 18th)

While in Ohio, I found out my parents were going to have a booth at the Burlington Antique Show in Kentucky on September 17th. Since that was so close to where we were, we decided to stay in the area to rendezvous with them.  After leaving Deer Creek State Park, we stayed at Valley Vineyard in Morrow, OH.  We were greeted with a glass of champagne, a flight of beer and a private tour of the winery.

This flight with a generous serving of every beer they had cost $10!

The next day, we headed west into Indiana, a state that neither of us anticipated visiting.  Kristopher has been wanting to stay at a casino since most of them offer free overnight parking for RVs.  We found Rising Star Casino situated on the Ohio River and decided to give it a shot. We tried our luck at slots, but ended up losing $40.  I thought we could make up for it with free booze, but alas, our bloody mary's weren't free (but they were delicious).  The parking lot was quite noisy throughout the night, and the next morning we decided we were not fans of casino parking.

Kristopher found a fairground in Osgood, IN that would let us camp for $10 a night. We hate doing daily jumps, so we decided to spend three nights there. We had the entire fair park to ourselves, so Lambeau got lots of off leash time.  Our spot was a little over an hour from Indianapolis, so we decided to do a day trip.  We ended up going to a brewery and Virginia B. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park behind Indianapolis Museum of Art. The park had a ton of sculptures throughout for Lambeau to claim as his own.

Batesville, IN had a brewery called Lil' Charlie's that we visited twice.  They served a huge selection of beers and pretty damn good smoked wings.

On Saturday, September 16th, we drove the quick hour to Burlington, KY where my parents were waiting for us.  Kristopher and I set up camp while my mom and dad set up their booth for Sunday's show.  Luckily, we were able to camp very close to my dad's booth.  On Sunday, the antique show was PACKED, and we were unable to leave until the show was over at 3pm.  The folks who run the show were nice enough to let us stay Sunday night too, and we once again had the fairgrounds all to ourselves.
